Iran hangs 22-year-old man in prison Fri. 24 Feb 2006

Tehran, Iran, Feb. 24 – A young man from the town of Ardebil, north-western Iran, was hanged in prison, a state-run news agency reported on Friday.

The man who was 22 years old and from the town of Meshkin Shahr was hanged in Ardebil Prison on Monday for allegedly stabbing to death another young man in a village near his hometown, ISNA reported.

The hanging took place in front of judicial official and police.

Separately, the daily Etemaad Melli reported on Thursday that a 24-year-old man had been hanged in a prison in the western town of Qazvin.
