Tehran, Iran, Apr. 20 – An Afghan man was hanged in central Iran in the early hours of the day, Iran’s official news agency reported on Thursday.

The man, identified as Mohheb-Ali Bastani, was charged with drug smuggling.

He was hanged in prison in the town of Delijan, situated in the province of Isfahan.

The state-run news agency Fars reported on Wednesday that authorities hanged 10 men in Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison in the early hours of the day.

On Wednesday, Amnesty International said that Iran had the second-highest execution rate in the world in 2005.
