Tehran, Iran, Sep. 04 – An
Iranian man was hanged in the town of Iranshahr, in Iran’s
south-eastern Baluchistan Province, a
semi-official daily reported on Sunday.
The man, identified as Houshang Bameri, was hanged at 9
am Saturday morning, the hard-line Jomhouri Islami wrote. He was accused of killing two para-military security agents.
Baluchistan Province, home to Iran’s minority Baluchis, has witnessed a string of clashes between
government troops and insurgents in recent months. Baluchis,
unlike Iran’s Shiite
clerical rulers, adhere to the Sunni branch of Islam.
