Tehran, Iran, Oct. 09 – A 17-year-old boy was sentenced to death by hanging, a state-run daily reported on Sunday.

The boy, only identified by his first name Hamid, was accused of murder after a scuffle with several individuals, according to the daily Iran.

A Tehran court found him guilty and sentenced him to execution.

No details were provided on when and where the execution would take place.

Iran has executed at least seven child offenders in 2005, according to the international human rights organisation Amnesty International.
