Tehran, Iran, Nov. 08 – A young man was publicly hanged in the northern Iranian town of Sari, a semi-official daily reported on Tuesday.

22-year-old Ahmad Norouzian was publicly hanged in Khazar Square, the hard-line daily Kayhan wrote.

Norouzian was accused of rape and his sentence had been upheld by Iran’s State Supreme Court and approved by the country’s Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi
