Tehran, Iran, Nov. 12 – A 27-year old man from the central city of Isfahan was hanged to death, a state-run daily reported on Saturday.

The man, only identified by his first name Majid, was accused of stabbing another man identified as Abdol-Rasoul, the daily Iran wrote.

In his hearing, Majid said that he had acted in self-defence.

The report did not state whether the young man was hanged in public.
