Activists Welcome FIFA Deadline For Iran to Lift Discriminatory Ban on Women in Stadiums
November 27, 2018 – Heeding calls by women’s rights activists inside and outside Iran, governing football body FIFA has been urged in a new report by its advisory board to give the Islamic Republic a deadline to lift its ban on women in football stadiums.

2016.11.18 – We, women have all experienced the wounds of violence. At home, in school and in society, from the moment that we have come to know ourselves as the second gender, as a woman, violence has entered our lives – daily violence that appears to be natural, always with some kind of cultural, traditional, psychological, biological, legal or religious justification. Even we ourselves who have been the target of violence have become used to it. The violence is not only an act damaging our bodies and endangering our lives.
Iran: End Ban on Women at Volleyball Matches
Volleyball Federation’s Tolerance of Exclusion Brings ‘Shame to the Game’
(New York) – Iran should stop preventing women and girls from attending volleyball matches and take further steps to promote gender equality, Human Rights Watch said in opening a digital advocacy campaign to promote respect for women’s rights in the country.
The campaign coincides with the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Men’s Club World Championship in Brazil, from October 27 to November 1, 2015, and the FIVB’s decision to award Iran hosting rights for the February 2016 FIVB beach volleyball tournament.
